ProBook 430 G5

Hello,

Used notebook: ProBook 430 G5
Docking station in use: HP Elite USB-C Dock G4

The user reports a malfunctioning docking station notebook is connected via USB-C to the docking station, no response is recorded except for the system audio notification that hardware has been detected. There have been problems with the docking station in the past in the sense that sometimes a connected monitor or USB peripheral has not caught up, but these have been fixed by updating the docking station drivers and upgrading the notebook's bios, where the notebook continued to function for X months without problems. However, in the current state, these updates did not help - all new versions of drivers available on the NB Web site were installed https://support.hp.com/en-us/drivers/selfservice/hp-probook-430-g5-notebook-pc/ 17047126. From this page I also tried to update the available drivers for the docking station, but it is not detected when the installer starts (even though it is physically connected via the USB-C port).

It was also tested:
- reinstallation of OS Windows 10
- laptop BIOS downgrade
- reset the BIOS factory settings
- docking station tested with another employee who uses the same type and worked smoothly here - the opposite is true with a laptop, if we took the same docking station from another employee and connected it with this laptop, it didn't work.

I suspect that there is either a mechanically damaged USB-C in this particular notebook model, or there is a driver / BIOS problem that I am short of from the user's point of view.

Can I ask for help?

Thank you

Vladimir
