Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi-  I just received a refurbished HP laptop. When I went to start it up, the screen did not turn on at all, but the laptop was starting up and running. I connected the laptop to an external monitor which worked. I went through the Windows 10 setup (which came preinstalled). Then I searched the internet and tried every solution possible. I updated the graphics driver, updated BIOS, did a hardboot multiple times, checked the RAM stick to make sure it was working through the Windows Memory Diagnostic... I can't figure out what else to do besides taking it in to get checked out, which I'd like to avoid paying for.  And if it's a simple fix I'd rather not go through the process of returning it. Is there a way the display could have been physically disconnected/unplugged internally? Any other suggestions?
