Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP ProBook 4740s and just bought a Samsung SD300 LED monitor for an extended display.

As soon as I plug the cable into my laptop (even with the monitor's power off), my laptop display goes black. The extended screen does not show my laptop screen info at all - so I have to unplug the cable to be able to do anything.

Severly frustrated! I have installed the driver provided on the DVD which came with the monitor.

Both Display adaptors are on the most updated drivers.

Please assist
