Product: Probook 450 G8
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

My client has an HP 450 G8 on which the Webcam appears to be working but the screen is just black. 

I've tried uninstalling it and downloading the driver from the HP website, ensuring that all device drivers are up to date. 

There is no shutter key on the keyboard and all the privacy settings are set to allow apps such as Camera, Zoom and Google Meet to use it, but none of this has fixed the issue. 


I can see from a search online that this is quite a common problem but I am yet to find a fix that works. Please can anyone help?

The laptop is in warranty so if nothing else I could return but it seems ridiculous to do so over what is probably a software issue.
