FYI - I was having the above listed issue where my computer started to make crackling noises and high pitched sounds when the volume was on.  Because of this, I had to mute the volume anytime I did anything on the computer for the past week.

 

I reached out to HP Support via Facebook Messenger, and they told me to go to the below links and go through these steps... and if that didn't work to reach back out to them.

 

THE STEPS worked for me!!!!!!  Because of this I am posting their solution here - for your convenience!!!  ENJOY, and you are WELCOME!!!  XOXO

 

HP Response:

"Let us first work on the noise that you are getting from the computer.

Please open the below HP link and perform the troubleshooting steps on your computer from Step 1 to Step 6 exactly as mentioned in the below link,
