I'm having an issue with using an external mic with my ZBook. When I connect Apple Earpods to the 3.5mm jack, the audio works fine but the mic refuses to pick up sound. The earpods work fine and also work on another HP laptop so the issue is with this laptop. I have tried uninstalling the headset mic drivers and re-installing it but that made no difference. The mic is definitely connected to the laptop, but it is continuously picking up some interference. On the sound settings page where you can see the mic input, there is a continuous input of sound for the mic from somewhere.  When I take a voice recording, all I can hear is a loud hissing noise. And it will not pick up my voice. I find it weird how the sound plays from the earpods perfectly but the mic is working incorrectly. Does anyone have any solutions? Thanks
