Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all, first time here so here goes,

I have been trying for a few weeks to understand how to make HP Sure recover work.

It all started after having to do a windows reinstall following a windows update in May that made the win10 start menu and underlying file explorer stop working, thus rendering the pc unusuable and thus no choice other than to reinstall (because of this problem, I believe sure recover would also not work - I did try it using the F11 key at boot but it kept going straight to WinRE)

So for the moment, and in simple terms, I am trying to use the embedded recovery chip on my PC but after a number of attempts checking BIOS settings and installing newer and older versions of HP Client Security Manager and the SureRecover plugin, whenever I select 'local disk recovery (after pressing F11 at the BIOS)  it only ever still goes to windows recovery environment instead of anything on the embedded device recovery?

I am at a loss why this is happening and so I would like to ask, if anyone knows how I can fully verify either in Windows device manager, some sort of HP software utility or even by simply looking at the motherboard, whether there is indeed an embedded recovery device on my Zbook? (I have been told that there is when i purchased it and via some support agents) - again the exact model number HP Zbook 15 G6 / 6TU88EA#ABU.

Kind Regards

I would be super grateful for any help or insight you may be able to provide.

Kindest regards
