HP Spectre 15-eb0785ng x360
Linux

Hello,

I recently bought a new HP Spectre x360. For various reasons I am running linux on it and it leaves a good impression.

Only exception is when it comes to the speakers and the builtin audio-features.

I currently get the two speakers on the bottom side to work by clearing the GPIO pin 0 manually. What's still missing is the sound from the other two speakers on the upper side. Also the LEDs for muting playback/microphone are not working at all.

I would suspect the LEDs to be some other pins. Problem is I can not figure out which ones.

My online research revealed that it would be a good step to ask for the specifications of the builtin audio system. Informations about the pin layout or the surround speakers would be very helpful. Maybe someone with a similar device has already adressed these issues.

I would appreciate any workaround to get one of the mentioned features to work.

The device uses the realtek ALC285 audio codec. Further information about my system can be found here: http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=c8ee13e52fd6b2377573a7123c2887fe4d59c917

The system I am running is arch linux with kernel version 5.7.12. I have also tried it with the ubuntu kernel in version 5.8-rc7 but it seems there is no patch for this in the current kernel version.

I would appreciate any workaround to get one of the mentioned features to work.

Thank you very much!
