Hi. Help! My daughter's laptop powers on, but as soon as the hp screen comes up the screen fades or goes black and it powers off.

I've tried it with only one of the 2 ram cards in and I've also tried it with my other daughter's ram and hard drive. It is always the same. I have tried Windows key and b and also v. It has come up, momentarily with with boot options, but immediately then goes off anyway.

I changed the power button recently, as apparently it had stopped working. After that it was working fine initially,  but now this. Anybody got any clues.

I've held the power button for a minute without power source to get rid of static,  I've powered on and held button until power off multiple times. I'm out of ideas now.
