Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HI I wanted to know is it possible to install a 1 or 2TB NVME SSD in an M.2 SSD slot in my HP elitebook 840 G3 6600u or should I just purchase an M.2 SSD? Currently I have a pre-installed 256gb M.2 SSD from the HP retail shop when I purchased the laptop but I was hoping to replace this with a higher capacity M.2 or an NVME SSD.

Another thing I wanted to ask, does it adversely affect the elitebook in terms of heat or functionality if the M.2 slot SSD is above 256/512 GB storage and higher in capacity around 2TB? I heard a rumor about some heat dump problems that risks laptop's longevity.
