Ok so, i bought a "broken" hp mini online, and of course its not really broken, it needed a new ram stick andit started up fine, but then when it starts booting it says several things, one of which i havent looked into yet is cmos or csmos checksum bad, and when i hit f1 i think or f2 to start normally as it says on that same screen, it goes to a black screen and says error with operating system. From what iv read it just means the windows install is messed up, so to see i put the hard drive from one of my newer laptops, and ran a check with it, it says that it was missing a partition or some such, but i figure it was talking about itself, i took the nothing else to mean the bios was ok. Then i hooked the original hard drive to my usb adapter and ran a check with another laptop, and my phone, with the type c/usb adapter, and both said that the partition is missing block 512. I still havent looked much into that, i have quite a few laptops i work on any given time, and its very difficult to find a way to just download its operating system. When on the very 1st screen, it says f11 is the recovery, but f11 does absolutely nothing. When i hit f10 i believe maybe 9 it goes into a menu that from what iv seen online should have many more options, but it doesnt, and i cant seem to get it to do any sort of recovery. Im not entirely sure what operating system it actually has, but i figure very likely its got windows 7 or xp. Any help would be very appreciated, iv given the info i can, if more is needed tell me what and how to find it and i will, and ill try to make the answer short. Thanks in advance. Oh yea i do know tho, my other hard drive told me, its 32bit not 64. If that matters
