Product: CQ60-615DX
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I'm replacing the backlight inverter on a CQ60-615DX and I have a question about the bit of copper foil tape that goes from what looks like a ground pad on the inverter to what is apparently a large silver ground plate behind the display unit.

 

Is this indeed for grounding? If so, is is required and if required, can I use this product from Amazon Copper-Conductive-Adhesive-Tape ?
