HP 2000 bf69WM
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi, I recently came into cleaning and re pasting a HP 2000 notebook. This notebook I believe is more then seven years old, and I after carefully disassembling it, the thermal pad on the GPU has came off, and as I can read the assembly manual, it recommends that always the thermal pads should also be replaced if re pasting the CPU, and in this case applying some fresh thermal pads to the GPU as well. Now the thing is, I see that the manual refers to the thermal pad kit, with the serial number 634366-001. After looking at partsurfer.hp.com, it seems this kit is no longer supplied. Now I am at a bit of a problem in this case if there is a solution:

- Should I contact an HP representative, from my local country (Serbia in this case), and try seeing if there is a thermal kit still available for purchase
- Should I try finding a replacement silicone thermal pad, but I do not know the thickness of the thermal pad for the GPU

- Should I try using thermal paste as a replacement, but I have seen people saying that is not a good idea to the on the GPU chip.

Thanks in advance for anyone trying to help me out with this.
