HP Pavilion Notebook 15-AU023CL

I recently posed a problem that the “expert” was unable to solve for me. I am not  implying anything critical here; it's just that I am a total novice, don't understand the computer lingo, and got incredibly frustrated.  The question posed was:

“According to several places that have been visited in Settings and File Explorer, the laptop IS CONNECTED to the internet. However, when I click on the Desktop tile for internet access, I am routed to the home page for about 10 seconds and then it throws me back to the Desktop”.

For those that may have a similar problem, my computer has been fixed.  I took it into the Geek Squad at Best Buy. They diagnosed a problem that is frequenting HP notebook users, which involves a glitch in Microsoft Edge. They downloaded Google Chrome for me and everything works perfectly. And they didn't charge me anything.  Hope this may help others who are frustrated with this problem.
