HP Notebook - 15-r264dx TouchSmart
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

HP VH240a 23.8" Monitor requires a computer laptop with a video card that supports a 1920 x 1080 @6Hz display.  Will the HP Notebook - 15-r264dx Touch Screen work with the HP VH240a Monitor?

Under HP's Customer Support Knowledge base for the HP Notebook cited, it states as follows,

Display
15.6-inch diagonal HD WLED-backlit touchscreen display (1366x768)

But this is the monitor on the notebook itself, correct...?  Not the parameters of the video card itself (i.e. what external monitor display it will support.  Correct?

At bottom, the issue is that the notebook monitor hinge cracked, popping a slight edge of the monitor corner, so the monitor remains black / no longer displays.  The notebook itself (hard drive) powers on and boots.  I am able to use a VGA cable connection to my new Phillips Smart TV, but I want to buy an external monitor to connect to the laptop, and want to be sure the monitor I buy is supported by the HP Notebook - 15-r264dx Touchsmart video card.
