Elitebook 8760w
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I've been having recurrent issues with Kernel Power 41 (63) in my HP elitebook 8760w workstation.

The issues started a couple of months ago, I went to internet and tried everything I found out, but never solved the issue

The issue happens more often during gaming, but it can happen any time. The PC simple restarts on its owns.

  • I've performed all H/W tests from HP test services tool. Everything is fine except for the electricity supply test with ot without the battery (which is systematically cancelled).
  • I've tested HD and memory with Windows tools, nothing found.

The issues started in windows 10. I've tried all manipulations seen in internet (never shut down HD, no quick restart, downclocking the cores etc etc). Nothing solved the issued.

  • The PC was running hot, I opened it, cleaned the fan, re did the thermal compound. Now it runs colder, but issue remained.

Actually, 've tested the PC with OCCT for temperature,  Before the cleaning and thermal compound restoration, the PC systematically crashed during the tests. Now it doesnt crash anymore, during the test. Very often the test is aborted as one core reachs 85°C, despite the cleaning.

  • I've downgraded the PC back to windows 7. I re installed all drivers from HP website. Issue remained
  • I've tried the same kind of manipulations on windows 7 (never shut down HD,downlocking the cores etc). Never worked
  • Changed the A/C supply: nothing

I do not know what else I could do.

Does anyone has had the same issue. How did you solve it?

Thanks in advance for your help
