In regards to the post I entered a while back:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/HP-Cafe-and-Lounge/Re-Laptop-Hinge-Case-Reliability-Issue/m-p/6509746

I did end up purchasing a new laptop computer.  It is a Lenovo and I am much happier with the physical quality aspects of the laptop.

I hope this message reaches the proper location in the HP engineering community.  Once a customer is lost due to poor product quality, it is very difficult if not impossible to get them back.

As an additional note:  The OfficeJet 4500 printer I purchased was rendered useless because a single (plastic) tooth broke off that engages the motor driving the scanner portion of the device.  I was able to fix this as well by opening the printer and gluing the tooth back on.  In my opinion, this failure shows a lack of quality and should never have happened.  Once again, I will most likely never purchase another HP printer.
