EliteBook 8460p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently my EliteBook 8460p has been acting up where it would randomly shut off for no reason. At first, I thought it was the CPU overheating as it started to get warmer due to seasonal change so I purchased some thermal paste to replace the much-needed old one. I cleaned out the fan and everything but it would still persist and shut off after a while. I read online how it could potentially be the CMOS battery going bad and thus I took apart my laptop to not only locate the CMOS but to clean out any hair and dirt just in case that was the issue. Now it won't turn on where previously the screen would light up but now it just stays black when trying to turn on and shuts off immediately.

I did order and install a new CMOS but the problem still occurs.
