I have a problem with the displayport set up on my laptop

I have been lead to believe I can have multiple monitors if I use a displayport adaptor (StarTech MultiStream Transport Hub adaptor which is a MST device) hooked onto my laptop. The displayport adaptor has one input from my docking station and 4 outlets for 4 monitors.

Problem I have is I can only see 2 additional monitors connected so running 3 screen (laptop and 2 monitors)

What do I need to do to be able to use the 4 standalone monitors?

Does anyone have any ideas what I need to do to get the 4 monitors running?
