Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Help, my HP 250 suddenly started draining battery, I don't know if it's because I downgraded to windows 8, my brother told me he charged it to 100 when I came to use it, it did not power on,  I charged it again,turned it off without using it,  came back it did not power on.  This started after I installed windows 8 to my system,  what could be the cause.
