Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed the HP drive encryption in late 2016.

Now I need to uninstall it in order to install the latest Windows 10 upgrades.

I can't open the Client Security Manager ... it fails.

I downloaded the latest version of the CSM from HP, but when I try to install it, I'm told I have a newer version already installed and I have to uninstall that firsrt.

If I uninstall the current CSM without first decrypting I may lose access to the data ... HP support doesn't know if I'll be able to access it once I reinstall the older CSM that I've downloaded.

There's no way to access the drive encryption application straight from the drive, they say.

Any suggestions?

There have to be thousands of HP customers out there with this same problem.  If they can't get Windows Upgrades, that's a huge security problem that will affect everyone.
