Product: HP USB-C Universal Dock
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using an HP USB-C Universal Dock with an Elitebook 840 G3. After figuring out that this laptop does not support charging through the USB-C port 😞 , I switched to using the supplied USB-C to 4.5mm/USB-3 adaptor. This seemed to work great until the user rebooted the laptop. After restarting, the dock ethernet port was not recognised. 

I was able to get it working again by reinstalling ethernet drivers but have the same issue every time it is rebooted.  

I have tried installing drivers that came loaded on the dock flash memory, as well as having Windows find the drivers.

This issue only happens when connecting the dock with the USB-3 adaptor. If I plug the USB-C cable directly into the laptop, then the ethernet is fine - just it will not charge.

Does anyone have any ideas?
