When connecting to WiFi, my laptop will connect but says 'No internet, secured', meaning I don't have any connection to be able to actually use the wifi/internet at all. I have tried for HOURS to fix this and tried so many methods - e.g. troubleshooting, restarting the wifi router and modem, uninstalling the network driver and reinstalling, restarting the laptop (about 1000 times now), changing my network adaptor options, forgetting the wifi network and re-adding it and many more. Nothing is working.

When I hover over the network icon in the bottom right corner it says 'Unidentified network, no Internet access', and the troubleshoot report says:

  • DHCP is not enabled for WiFi
  • The connection between your access point, router or cable modem and the Internet is broken

Every other device in this house including 4 other PCs are working fine with the wifi and their internet connection works. It is just this laptop. It has never been a problem before now and always connected fine until now.

I have plugged an ethernet cable into my laptop and this connects my laptop to the internet. But it won't connect wirelessly like it used to and should.

Please someone help me. This is driving me insane. I have tried for hours to fix this and have spoken with Microsoft and HP.  Both unhelpful. Do I need to contact my ISP? Just seems strange since every other device is connecting to the same internet fine.

Update: I have just ran the HP Network Check on my laptop and it says that the possible root causes are:

- DHCP disabled for this adapter (107)

- This computer is set to manually connect to network (201

- No Ethernet network detected (102)
