Recently I just started getting errors with my wifi where I am connected, but do not have internet.  I have checked other devices and they are able to connect to the internet no problem and maintain the connection.  I have checked for updates and even uninstalled the driver, but I keep getting the same message.  Whenever I run the troubleshooter it will reset my adapter and the problem is always fixed, but this occurs every 5 minutes or so.  The troubleshooter says "

Wi-Fi doesn’t have a valid IP configuration"

.  Any ideas on what the problem is/what a permanent solution might be?

On a side note, the only thing that I've recently changed was installing a VPN, which was several weeks ago, but I have uninstalled it since then.
