ProBook 4710s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My notebooks starts the boot process but then freezes with a black screen with no error messages. I have been through all the recommended steps in the link HP Guided Solution - No Power or No Boot Troubleshooting.  Nothing works.  The BIOS update fails with still a blank screen with the capslock LED blinking blue.  When booting and pressing the Esc key I can get to the diagnostic screen.  F2 checks the memory which is OK and then sends me to the quick Test 1 which fails with a Read failure Error.   Is the hard drive on its way out?
