HP Notebook G72
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all. My G72 HP Notebook is overheating and shutting down! I have trawled HP's site and followed all suggestions.

To date... I have stripped it, cleaned it, checked the fan and heat sink. Cleaned and reapplied thermal paste... all to  no avail.

I'm using core temp software to monitor temp. It's running between 70-80 degrees C (Fan is on all the time, idling, then blowing hard). I've checked HP's site for a Bios update (says I'm using most recent?) Machine is over 10 years old and I installed an SSD drive to improve the boot speed as it was taking 3 minutes to boot and programs were unusable and slow (overheating was happening before the SSD drive installation). I'm at my wits end with this machine... any help please? TIA.
