Hi!

Long story short : a friend gave me his laptop (HP HSTNN-105c ) to help him with something, but when I tried to boot it a "Power-on Password" showed up. Is there any way to fix it ?20170831_164739.jpg

To better help you we would need the exact model number or product number of your laptop/desktop???

Could not find a nc6120 but I did find a nc6125. (It should be the same.)

Remove AC, main battery and memory cover.

Remove any memory.

The memory slot next to the Hard Drive Bay peal back the plastic cover. (As seen in the photo.)

Use a small flat head screw driver to short the (J4) contacts.

Reassemble and boot.

Let me know how things go.

(May be upside down, don't know why)

(Check that by the hp logo, if it's upside down the entire photo is like that)

This is that cover I should remove ?

Above, on right is the Hard Disk's place (considering the photo is, again, upside-down)

And 2 : This is the only method to fix that ? 'cause I'm not a pro at the hardware part of PCs and I wouldn't want to mess with his laptop. (And I like the desktops more 😛 )
