ProBook 4510s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm looking to replace the screen on my old ProBook 4510s as it is faulty (many spots with dead pixels).

The current 15.6" screen has a resolution of 1366x768 and according to the official service manual from HP, this laptop could be upgraded to 1600x900 with a new panel.

According to a few sellers on AliExpress, if the original screen has a resolution of 1366x768, it can only be replaced with a panel of the same resolution. Because of what the service manual says, I find that hard to believe.

Can I safely just order the 1600x900 screen or would I need to source the appropriate display cable as well in order to get said screen to work properly?

From a price perspective there isn't much of a difference between a HD and a HD+ panel.

Thanks in advance for any advice
