Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

My Specs:

Windows 10 Home 64-Bit Version: 16299.1087

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz

RAM 8GB (2x 4GB)

Motherboard: 820F 82.39

BIOS: F.53

Graphics:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M      version: 26.21.14.4097 (16.10.2019)

Intel HD graphics 530

Since fall 2019 I have the problem, that my internal Laptop display stays black after reboot. When I connect an external monitor, I can log in to Windows and everything works, only in device manager I see a warning at the Intel HD Graphics 530. The second graphic card the NVIDIA GTX 960M is working fine. Hence it is a problem with the intel graphic card and I see only on a second screen a picture, because the NVIDIA card is doing that.

I assume it must be a driver problem with the Intel card.

I tried everything:

  • different drivers from HP for my Laptop model
  • other Intel drivers from HP (other laptop models but same CPU)
  • newer and older driver directly from Intel
  • Fresh reinstallation of different windows version (1709, 1803, 1909)
  • Installing the drivers in safe mode
  • Deleting the drivers in safe mode with a software called "Display Driver Uninstaller"

What I don't understand that I can reboot sometimes multiple times after I installed an Intel graphic driver, but suddenly at the next reboot I get a black screen. The only way to fix this is to turn the Laptop multiple times on and off by pressing the power button or connecting an external monitor to log in to windows and then uninstall the driver.

Even then I often must switch the laptop several times on and off, until the internal display is working again.

The weird thing is that often, also the bios setup is not showing at the start. The only thing, which works is to stay at the microsoft basic display adapter, but Windows always download after a time a driver for the Intel graphic card. Also, there are performance issues, when I use programs with higher performance and stay at the microsoft basic display adapter.

My suggestion is that Windows and the driver for the integrated Intel graphic card is not properly working together. Hence I would need a driver, which really works and not only for some reboots, until the screen stays black again.

I hope anybody could help me with this problem. I looked at the Internet and it seems that many persons have display problems.

I hope somebody could help me, or have equal experiences to share.

Best regards
