Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi there,

Post lockdown some of our users now want a second screen and at no cost.  Have a fleet of aging Probook 6550b's sitting in docks like this one: https://support.hp.com/nz-en/product/hp-2012-90w-docking-station/5259876

connected to this are 2 panels, one a 19" 4x3 from HP and the other a Samsung widescreen.  When I use the HP display/graphics management software it gives me options to run the 19" at resolutions I would expect to see for the Samsung and the offerings for the Samsung are what I would expect to see for the 19".  Weird.

any ideas?  The net effect is that the 19" goes fine but the Samsung overfills the screen slightly making it hard to close or minimise applications
