Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The SD card reader used to be working just fine. A few months ago I had some trouble with reading a pretty new SD card. It would work, if I was patient enough. But then, when it was loaded, the pc was extremely slow and would only become faster again after rejecting the card.
Lately, the PC does not recognize ANY sd card anymore. I am not sure why. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall (the latest) driver, with no luck. Any clue what could be going wrong?
