I am having issues with an HP 640 G2 connecting to a Samsung U28E850R. It is connected through a KVM via HDMI. I cannot get the monitor to register with laptop when the lid is closed. Only when the lid is open will it display on the monitor (at any resolution). The settings for closing the lid have been modified so it does not go to sleep. I have updated the video driver with the Samsung driver and verified there are no Windows updates. The monitor displays a notification that the resolution settings need to be set to 3840x2160 at 30hz, which I have done through display settings and Intel graphics settings with no avail. Occasionally the monitor will flicked with the display but then goes back to a black screen. It seems as if the graphics card cannot support this monitor?
Does any one else experience this issue and have any ideas on a fix? I am driving myself crazy trying to figure this out.
