Hello people!

So connecting an external Display via HDMI is not working.  I am using my Pavillion for about two and a half years now and the Issue started a few months ago but now I am keen to resolve it.

I have two GPUs in my laptop, an Intel UHD Graphics 620 and an NVidia Geforce 1050 Ti with Max-Q Design.

When plugging in a Device via HDMI it appears within the Device Manager or the advanced graphics setting but not the normal display settings.

I have already tried quite a few steps:

  • I've tried different HDMI cables
  • different Monitors
  • reinstalling the graphics driver
  • updating the BIOS
  • changing resolution and Hz

A monitor using a HDMI to DVI is working. Sometimes you can also see the image being projected but flashing or only for a few seconds.

I don't think that the port is at fault because the behavior/flashing of the screen isn't influenced by moving the plug in any way.

Hope somebody can help me to fix this issue.

Best Regards

Peter
