HP Probook 650 G5 Notebook PC IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been doing updates on a HP Probook650 G5 Notebook PC IDS Base Model. I installed an update for windows to 20H2 and Installed Intel Chipset Installation Utility 10.1.18121.8164 Rev.A. Since the updates the serial com port no longer communicates with any of the PLC(programmable logic controllers). In device manager it shows that the device is working properly and I can change the com port settings.

I tried uninstalling the serial port a couple of times with the same result. I tried to reset the com port names in the registry. i tried uninstalling all serial drivers from the device manager. Every time I uninstall the driver it would always take up the com5 name. also tried resetting the the BIOS settings to default.
