HP Pavilion 15 Gaming Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I saw quite a few post asking about what HP bloatware to remove.

I uninstall everything except "HP wireless button driver". Just sharing my 2 cents, which can be wrong.

I just got this laptop 2 days ago. To decide what to uninstall, I went to

> HP recovery manager > Driver & applications reinstall >

It only shows 2 HP programs that are drivers, the rest are applications (see screenshot below)

I assume applications are not necessary, so removed them even though they sounded really useful. Below are some of the programs that I struggled with before removing.

> 3D drive guard - I mostly use my laptop on a stable table, not carrying it around. Also don't trust it to accurately predict "what I want". I saw a gamer posted that it slowed his computer down when he shifts his posture.

> Energy star - Is it accurate enough? I feel the - computer going to sleep mode after 15 mins is good enough.

> Cool sense - Suppose to cool the laptop down in different situations, accurate enough? Will it turn on, off when its not suppose to? A post says it makes his computer hotter.

> System event utility - Read the program description & forum posts about it, but it doesn't tell me what it does in details, removed.

> PC hardware diagnostics - I assume/ hope my laptop can last me at least 4 years, so may not need it now. Also a thought is - If my hardware/ hard disk dies, won't my software (that is residing on it) becomes affected? Am I using the sick to cure the sick? But I will reinstall it when I need it.

Useless info: I always thought events in the world are "analog data", it is hard to write digital algorithms to handle non-straightforward "analog events". Yes, digital thermometers, smoke alarm, etc, works well, but I always thought they are straightforward "analog events". Or else, the algorithm & sensor must be expensive & went through rigously testing (nuclear power plants, space stations). I don't expect a under $1000 laptop to have that kind of rigously testing.

In the end, I only have 1 driver left (see screen shot below). Laptop seems to be working fine.
