HP ENVY 15 notebook. OS Windows 10 (64-bit)

After a Windows update round about 21 May, 2017, my notebook speakers above the keyboard are out.  Only a tinny metallic sound now comes from the bottom, under the keypoard.  The plugged headphone however reproduces the sound fine.

Updating, uninstalling and re-installing the sound driver, as well as juggling with the settings have not worked.

It is surely an issue with the Windows 10 update.

If anyone with the same problem has found a solution, please help!
