I have been searching everywhere for a solution to my problem, and have been in so many circles I am busy...

My convertible laptop kept shutting off the keyboard and touchpad as if it were in "Tablet Mode".  I spent a ton of time trying to figure out how to disable tablet mode or get it to stop switching...  only to find that the keyboard and touchpad were still shutting off, even when I was not in Tablet Mode.

The culprit is an app in the startup menu called "Elan EzTiltPen Agent", and when I disabled that the problem stopped instantly (well after reboot!)

Go to:  Settings > Apps > Startup and simply toggle the "Elan EzTiltPen Agent" to OFF

Hope this helps someone.  I was on with MS support for nearly 2 hrs as they tried to figure it out...
