Hi! So, I have an omen laptop that has the following specs:
8th gen core i7-8550H with 6 cores and 2.20 gh
Nvidia GTX 1060 geoforce with G-sync
16 GB ram
I Have a little bit of dust in my fans which I assume is a culprit as to why my laptop performance has slowed down. I am going to clean the fans soon, but when I stream now, I get a lot of frame drops when I stream Fortnite. I just resolved an issue which allows me to play Fortnite on solid 60 FPS (I have a 60hz display) where I used to have frame dips. Now, when I play and want to stream, I have massive frame drops every few seconds. I look and see that my GPU is being utilized 100% when doing streaming and playing as opposed to the 30% when only playing. I assume that is why my frame drops occur; it tries to stay cool and so lowers the usage. I check and the GPU temps are 207 when streaming and 120-170 when just playing (this is in farenheight)
I was wondering whether my specs are good for streaming Fortnite in 1080p at 60 fps. And, if the dust on my fans causes GPU and CPU problems, thank you!
