EliteBook Folio 9480m
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is not really a question but just posting what I found out in my situation.  I have a Folio 9480m that I wanted to upgrade the network adapter card to a WiFi 6 (Intel ax200) card.  I downloaded the driver ahead of time so it would be available to install after the hardware was changed.  All went well until I tried to install the driver when I received a message that said I couldn't install that driver on my system.

After thinking about it, I thought maybe the bios might be out of date to the point that it was preventing me from installing the software for the card because the machine did not recognize the hardware.  That was exactly the case here.  I checked and found that my bios was version 1.46 and the latest one was 1.49.

I installed the HP assistant software and then upgraded my bios to the newest version.  When I rebooted it with the new card installed, it was listed in device manager with all the proper listings and labeled as working correctly.  I did not even have to install the ax200 driver to get it working.  Now with my Asus RT-AX88U I am getting 1.2 Gbps connection speed.

Also  possibly worth noting is that I recently upgraded to the 2020-04 update for Windows 10 version 1909, so if you try this but you have a different version of Windows, you might want to try again after an upgrade to 1909.
