2UK37AA G2 Thunderbolt Dockingstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Does anyone know a fix for switching off the continuous noise emitted by the G2 Thunderbolt 3 Dockingstation (2UK37AA) fans?

They even operate, when the attached laptop is powered down and fully charged.

Unfortunately the dockingstation’s housing is a resonant cage with small air outlets and even the slightest power drain starts the fans, leading to an disturbing crescendo..

Made from metal with a relatively large surface, one would assume that this voltage converter (the power supply is independent, made from plastic and fan-free) would be able to operate the usb and charging ports without strong cooling. What are the internal losses of this cube and is there a firmware-fix, that gets rid of the fan noise, when thermal losses are <20W? A workaround is to unplug the laptop, but is this really intended?

I wonder that there is no eGPU built into this cube and the fans are still noisy as hell, essentially doing nothing else than the fan-less adapters one can find from cheap original-Chinese suppliers.

Besides, using the top-plate as on/off-switch looks nice, but is a horror to use: Every time a cable is plugged/unplugged, the risk to shut down the machine is imminent.

Is there a more compact alternative with DP-Ports (preferably 2.00) that does not "feature" these annoying tiny and noisy fans?
