Product: HP Elitebook 745 G6

So I got this device recently and Tried installing the latest drivers from HP support website for the synaptic touch pad because it gestures like two finger scrolling was not working, but this did not working.  It installs, and after restarting it shows as a Synaptic touchpad in device manager, but the touchpad controls become SUPER slow and the touchpad gesture options still don't show in the settings area. 

If I try to run synaptic touchpad manager that installs along with the driver it report unable to connect with the touchpad driver.

I've tried uninstalling the device and drivers from device manager and tried letting windows automatically update it and it still doesn't

 

  • I'd appreciate any guidance anyone can offer.  I use gestures all the time and really would like to get them working again.
