I've always been quite careful not to update unnecessary drivers or updates that might cause compatibility issues. But the HP Support Assistant keeps the driver update in flashing red ! constantly, and it is a touch fingerprint driver update, so I think it must be important and security related.

But to my surprise, once I installed the update Ver=11/06/2019,5.02.5024.0026 for the Synaptics VFS7552 WBF Touch Fingerprint Driver (SoftPaq number SP100496), my touch fingerprint cease to function, after several reboots, and uninstall/reinstall, it still not function properly. It won't even able to add new sets of fingerprints where it will just wait to press the finger forever.

When I finally had enough of this I went to the device manager, removed and reinstalled an earlier driver ver 5.02.5023.26 from 2019/7/12. It worked again without any problem. I think there is a serious issue for the 5.02.5024 update for the Synaptics VFS7552 WBF Touch Fingerprint Driver. If anybody has similar issue as me, please be careful with any new updates, and downgrade it if necessary.
