HP Pavillon - 15-cs3003ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Windows 10 family

system. HP Pavillon Laptop - 15-cs3003ca, acquired on 2020-08-03.

64 GB Lexar Pro 150 MB-S 1000X SDXC UHS-II memory card, acquired on 2020-08-07.

I regularly update Windows as soon as they are available.

To understand the phenomenon I must tell you that all my personal data is saved on a memory card, including my desktop icons and some portable software. It has been working very well for years.

About 2 months after purchasing my computer I noticed that my memory card drive letter was missing for no apparent reason.

By rewriting the drive letter of the memory card from the disk manager, the desktop icons appeared immediately. However, it works fine for a while, but for no apparent reason the drive letter disappears again.

After countless research, I finally discovered that the memory card letter disappearance was caused by running the "Run Storage Self Test" application.

How can I correct this problem.

Thank you for your attention.
