I can acknowledge that I made to let the touchpad work on configuration as yours (4k display with IR camera version, i7):

1. Installing Ubuntu (with the hell of going through nouveau.modeset=0 during boot, and in Legacy Boot mode)

2. Installing proprietary nVidia drivers replacing nouveau (open source)

3. Manually upgrading Kernel to 4.19.1 using UKUU tool.

 

Touchapad works so far.

 

Now there is another problem - original Thunderbold HP dock won't show external display connected via Thunderbolt Dock and Displayport.

 

On the Windows, everything works of course 😞
