Hi,
After installation of Your Phone app, I got the message 'You have apps installed that prevent you from making calls'. After some browsing, I found that HP PhoneWise could cause this to happen, so I uninstalled it. However, this did not solve the problem.
After some further browsing, I learned that the Bluetooth drivers From Screenovate installed with PhoneWise must also be uninstalled. They appear in the Device manager as two Bluetooth devices:
Phone Call Audio Device (C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\HfAudio.sys)
Phone Input Device (C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\ScrHIDDriver.sys)
This helped, I could use Your Phone to make calls by uninstalling the Screenovate drivers in the Device Manager.
However, whenever I logged on to my computer, the drivers were reinstalled by the Sheduler by starting:
C:\Program Files\HP\PhoneWiseDeviceMaintenance\HPPhonewiseDEviceMaintenance.exe
Very annoying to uninstall the Bluetooth drivers in the Device Manager every time the computer restarted if I wanted to make calls.
So, I developed a smart (?) remedy, by renaming the file to old_HPPhonewiseDEviceMaintenance.exe. Much to my surprise this did not help, when trying to make calls in Your Phone, I still got the message that installed apps prevented me from making calls. And now, there were no Bluetooth devices to uninstall, very frustating.
As an act of desperation I inactivated the script in Scheduler, but this didn´t work either. At this point I figured that it was better to be able to make calls from the computer even though I had to uninstall the Bluetooth devices every time I logged on to Windows. I renamed the file to its original name and activated the script in Scheduler again restarted the computer, thinking everything was back to normal, when I actually could make calls.
I followed the same procedure, opening the Device manager, removing the Bluetooth devices, starting Your Phone app and 'You have apps installed that prevent you from making calls' still grinned at me. This is probably logic at some level I can´t understand, but I need help to make calls from Your app because I´m stuck. What do I need to do to be able to run Your Phone app? It seems like it is Phonewise interfering but how?
There must be some kind of method to detect and remove apps and drivers interfering with the Your Phone app!
