Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a couple of card readers that functioned perfectly.  Yes I have equipment that still uses a CF.   At one point I unplugged a USB stick without using the safe removal.  Since that time my card readers are no longer recognized.   The USB stick still works and the external card reader gets power but the card inserted is never recognized.  No drive 😧 is indicated in windows.   Any ideas?  I have uninstalled everything concerning USB in device manager to no avail.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
