HP Notebook - 17-x102cy
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Product Number Z4N69UA#ABA

Current BIOS: F19

I am unable to upgrade the BIOS in my laptop.  It is currently running version F19 and I would like to go to version F30.  I have tried with the HP Support Assistant software updater.  I have also tried creating a USB BIOS drive and updating it directly from the F2 screen under the Firmware Management option.  Neither options will work and both give the same results.

The update will start, but before it gets to any actual progress, it says "The system BIOS update failed" and "Unable to successfully flash BIOS image".  No error message.

Also when I tried to load the UEFI Hardware Diagnostics from the F2 options,  it said "The HP BIOS application selected is corrupt or missing. Please install the application and try again. BIOS Application Error (501)"  I have since resolved that by installing the software again for the UEFI hardware diagnostics from the HP Product support page.

Windows will work fine once it loads, but the from a cold start, the latop will take about 3-4 minutes to even POST.  Once windows loads, a reboot cycles through as expected, but if I shut it down, it will take a long time to even start to load windows.
