Pavillion Dv6 1230us
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have been trying to find compatible hardware products for an older HP Pavillion Dv6, model 1230us.

It has been upgraded to run Windows 10, 64-bit.

I attempted to upgrade to 4GB of RAM with a compatible 4GB chip (replacing the 2GB chip).  This was the 4GB chip I purchased.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/4GB-1x4GB-Memory-RAM-Upgrade-for-the-Compaq-HP-Pavilion-dv6-1050us-dv6-1230...

While Windows is starting to run faster, when I  look up my system information, my installed RAM now reads 32.0GB with 1.93 GB usable.  Something tells me the 4GB chip isn't compatible? I replaced the top RAM card of the two stacked cards in the machine.

I would like to upgrade the wifi card on this machine. Currently that is a Broadcom 4322AG 802.11 a/b/g/draft card.  20/40 MHz.  I tried this faster wifi card (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MV3N7UO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

but it turned out to be incompatible.  Can anyone recommend a faster wifi card than I currently have that would work with my components?

Currently this machine is running an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU Processor T6500 @ 2.10 GHz.

I am also attempting to image the HD onto a larger 1TB HDD made by Western Digital.  Model WD10SPZX-24 SATA 6GB/s PC CA500.  Can anyone tell me if this will work properly?  Currently running 256GB HDD and the installed HDD swaps out easily.

Thank you!
