HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I have a laptop notebook HP Envy 15, that came with Windows 8.1, but I've been using Windows 10 on it for more than 2 years now, and it was working perfectly.

But after the latest Windows 10 update, version 1703, the webcam stopped working. Whenever I open it, I get the message saying "We can't find your camera, blah blah blah", with the error code 0XA00F4244(0XC00DABED)

Sometimes the webcam works for a second (it keeps turning on and off, with the flash blinking, between showing the camera image and the error message). If I put some tape in front of it (I always keep the webcam covered, have you watched Blackmirror?), it "works", showing the image of the tape. But sometimes even with the tape, it keeps blinking.

I have tried every suggestion I found: have uninstalled the camera driver on the device manager, have checked the antivirus, have checked the camera privacy, checked for updates, I have even contacted Microsoft and reset the Windows (losing all of my apps), but still no success. I don't know what else to do.

It seems to be the exact same problem described on this forum below:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/0xa00f42710x80070002-wi...

Never a Windows update have f**d it up so bad.

One quick note that may or may not be another problem after the update: everytime I turn off the pc or restart it, the screen that appears with the message saying "restarting/turning it off" is all gray. It used to be blue or an image, I don't remember.

And sometimes the "Imaging Devices" on the Device Manager, disappears. But with it showing or not, the webcam does not work.

Anyone's got any ideas, please? I want my webcam back.

Thank you
