2021 Newest Pavillion Laptop or HP ProBook 4540s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I used to have the HP Notebook Dock with Port Replicator (can't find the P/N online) from 2008/2009? I was using this with my HP ProBook 4540s and looking to upgrade to a 2021 HP Pavilion with the 15.6" screen but see there's no VGA plug in on the newer laptops which makes sense given changes in technologies over 10+ years. At a minimum, if I kept this laptop, would the XP4 work with this for now while I find another solution? Has anyone worked through this issue before?

I'm now looking at the XP4 since the old one failed and now see this appears to be the newest version. I didn't see if anyone was able to use a newer laptop with the XP4 or what other solutions have you found that work? I like keeping things neat and clean with the docking station and having it as a second screen with the laptop stand but don't want to buy one if it won't work. I see a few on eBay that are new in the package for less than $100.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Recommendations? Thank you!
